'NOTD: OPI Combo'...

It feels like spring has officially arrived, and some days it feels more like summer! So I needed a bright nail look to go with the weather =) I decided to go with a nail combo instead of my typical "glitter nail".. and as always, the photos don't nearly do it justice!

NOTD: OPI "Charged Up Cherry" & "Strawberry Margarita"

Shown above is Strawberry Margarita, and I've applied it on my middle and ring finger....

And Charged Up Cherry on my thumb, pointer, and pinky fingers! Of course you can't see how bright it really is in person, but I just love the subtle difference in shade.

This is a polish from last summer's collection (if I remember correctly).. super shimmery!!! And as if I needed to add anything, I put some of OPI's "Bring On The Bling" on my ring finger.

NOTD: Poke =)

This polish has been sitting on my nail polish rack for ages, I have no clue why I haven't used it yet! It's amazing and bold and makes me smile =)

Illamasqua nail varnish in "Poke"... I love this purple! Almost opaque in 1 coat, I added a second just to be safe. In pictures it is looking a bit more cool-toned, but this is definitely a red based purple and has a beautiful sheen. Illamasqua's polishes continue to impress me!

And for my glitter nail...

OPI nail lacquer Designer Series in "DS Temptation"

OPI nail lacquer in "DS Temptation"... I'm not sure why this kept photographing so blue. This polish looks much much more purple in person, both in the bottle and on the nail. It's a gorgeous glitter polish with base of purple glitter and holographic pieces that go from blue to green to almost yellow.

'NOTD: Strawberry Fields'...

I was in a pink mood last night when I did my nails...

There is just something about a nice pink polish that puts me in a good mood. Sure, I love my taupes and dark wintery shades, but sometimes I just get that itch that won't go away until I paint my nails some variation of pink =)

This is the first time I have tried out "Strawberry Fields" by China Glaze, and I quite like it! Hopefully you can see the gorgeous pink and gold shimmer this polish is infused with!

'NOTD: EDYTA'...

Usually I'm pretty loyal to my OPI polishes, but when I saw this Zoya shade in the store I knew I just had to have it!!! I seem to be getting a "thing" for this dark army green color..

I love that this polish has a very fine gold-ish shimmer (which you can't really see in these pictures) that adds dimension to the green. =)  What's your favorite Zoya polish?!


*OPI has come out with their own version of CND's Shellac, I believe it's called OPI Gel Polish or something.. anyway it's definitely something you can do at home yourself, would any of you be interested in a how to post and info on where to purchase the OPI Gel??? I just started doing it on my own nails instead of the OPI Axxium and it's a lot easier and faster.

'NOTD: It's My Year '...

I've had this polish for a little while now, and just tried it out for the first time over the holidays while I was home in Michigan. Um, I freaking love it! It's such a gorgeous purple/maroon/I don't know how to explain it color that shines a sparkly gold shade. I've added a few pictures to try and show you how different it looks in different lighting and angles...

'NOTD: OPI Vodka & Caviar'... and exciting news!

Time for a NOTD!! This is my all-time favorite red nail polish. It's OPI Vodka & Caviar, and it is an amazing sophisticated shade.

I couldn't get the color to photograph quite right! This polish is a deeper red than it looks on my nails, but in the bottle you can sort of tell... sort of.

I got engaged!! Yay!

It happened about 2 months ago, and of course I'm already deep into wedding planning. The date is set, the dress is ordered, and I have been obsessed with looking on Pinterest for cool wedding ideas!

I don't think I will be doing any wedding blogs, but I will share pictures with you afterwards =)

'NOTD: Cajun Shrimp'...

This is a very popular OPI nail varnish shade, and for good reason! It's a gorgeous coral/red that would go with pretty much every skin-tone imaginable. =)

'NOTD: China Glaze, Shocking PiNK!'

For some reason I felt the need to put on an uber girly polish this time around. =) What's more girly in the summer than NEON PiNK?! (ok maybe a barbie pink is the most girly, but we are talking summer here!)

Does anyone have any tips on how to capture color more accurately with a camera??! I suppose it varies depending on what camera you have, but I am a total fail when it comes to getting brights to show up true to color. Sure, the color looks pretty in the picture, but this is NEON pink!!! Grrrrrr  >:(  haha

'NOTD: China Glaze'

If you like neon nail polishes, you NEED this one. I'm telling you it is freaking AMAZING. I wish my camera could pick up the color correctly... It's probably just me though, I think I need a camera lesson! haha

Here is my attempt anyway. It's China Glaze "Sun Worshiper".

In person this color is an insanely bright neon yellow-based orange. I'm telling you, it's looks practically glow in the dark!!

I tried taking a picture sort of in the dark. You can (sort of) tell that the color is still super intense!


*sigh*...... You really need to check this color out in person. It took me about 4 coats to get it totally opaque and not streaky, but the color is TOTALLY worth it!  =)  I don't get back-ups of hardly anything, but I'm getting another bottle of this one just in case!!

I love light pastel nail colors on other people, just not me! This is about the lightest I have gone so far! I haven't kept up my tan, but I think with some St. Tropez tonight I will be able to pull off the color better =) Quite frankly I think it looks pretty bad on me in this picture.... in person there is more green in the polish too.



Well I'm off to exfoliate!!

'NOTD: Illamasqua (Fail)'

It is my day off work today, and I'm feeling rather lazy. But I thought I'd throw up an easy post and show you one of my new favorite nail varnishes! =)
 I have been searching for a sort of mint green/blue and a lighter purple color since last summer. However, I need a polish that has enough vibrancy to it that it doesn't wash me out. Pastel color polishes look amazing on other people, just not me! I found this mid-tone intense purple aaaand I freakin' love it!!

For some unfortunate reason this color is looking totally different in pictures than in real life. :(  FAIL! The shade is a much warmer, red-toned bright purple. How annoying, right?!

 I'd say the last picture, from Sephora.com, is pretty darn accurate.. and against my NOTD photo, totally different!! This is definitely a FAIL NOTD, but I just love it in person!

'NOTD: Twisted Pink' to LIVE FOR...

I love this pink color =) It's just a classic, Barbie PiNK!

Sally Hansen "Twisted Pink" Xtreme Wear Nail Color... The more I wear these Sally Hansen polishes, the more I love them! They have such pretty colors, they wear amazingly well on me, and the price is so affordable! Most drugstores have this Sally Hansen line for around $2.49... Perfect!


Update: So far so good with my nail polish ban! I still have one polish to show you guys.. I purchased it before the BAN but it just arrived the other day in the mail!

'NOTD: Blue Me Away!' to LIVE FOR...

I can't even explain to you how much I love this color. It's so bright and summery! At work the other day an older gentleman gave me a big smile and asked if I did that to my nails on purpose.. It made me think of my dad and how he used to laugh and shake his head when I walked out of the house with some crazy get-up on =)

'NOTD: Let Me Entertain You by OPI'

This week I wanted to wear a polish with a bit more sparkle and color. "Let Me Entertain You" by OPI came out with the Burlesque collection a little while back. Now, I'm a huge huge fan of Christina Aguilera, so of course I had to purchase almost all the polishes from this collection  =)

 For some reason it is coming off much more red in these pictures than it is in real-life. It is very much a dark fuschia/pink, with a little bit of a raspberry color mixed in.. and SUPER sparkly!!!

 

What is on your nails today??


P.S. I have been trying to come up with a better way to store my nail polishes.. right now I keep them in shoe boxes! Any ideas? I want to be able to see what I have without taking up too much room storing them......

'NOTD: OPI' to LIVE FOR...

Ok, so this has been my all-time favorite nail polish foooor......I don't know... freakin forever =)  AMAZING! I've talked about it a bit in previous posts, and decided I needed to wear it. It's OPI "My Private Jet". I'm telling you if you don't already have it get it!!

This is such a tough color to photograph! You really can't see the little shimmers in it that sort of reflect different colors.

Well I tried.. you will have to look at it in person to really see how pretty it is!!
